A Bethlehem police officer from Hellertown who allegedly caused a Sept. 15 accident on the city's South Side is being sued—along with the city and the Bethlehem Police Department—by a 28-year-old woman who was injured in the crash, according to an article published by the Express-Times.

According to the story, the woman is claiming that police unsuccessfully tried to blame her for the crash, which the suit alleges was caused by officer William Audelo, 27, as he drove through a red light at an intersection near the Rt. 378 on-ramp without his unmarked police car's lights and sirens turned on.
