Man Lied to Avoid Arrest on Warrants, But Had None, Police Say

A Lower Saucon Township man gave officers a false name following a traffic stop in July because he thought he was wanted on warrants, but that wasn't the case, township police said in a news release.

A Lower Saucon Township man gave officers a false name following a traffic stop in July because he thought he was wanted on warrants, but that wasn't the case, township police said in a news release issued Wednesday.

According to police, after he was stopped at Black River Road and Alice Drive July 27, John Howard White, 31, of the 1900 block of Leithsville Road, told officers his name was Paul Seip and that he was born in 1986.

When White gave them an Easton address, police said it was discovered that someone with that name exists, "but with different colored eyes" than White has.

Police said White then told them his middle name is "Charles," but that also "did not match the information that was given."

Authorities said White eventually admitted that he lied about his name and age "because he has warrants."

"A record check revealed that White did not have any warrants, but he did have a suspended driver's license" due to a DUI offense, they added.

White has been charged with False ID to Law Enforcement, police said.
