When is Hellertown's Light-Up Night?

The traditional kickoff to holiday celebrations in the Saucon Valley is right around the corner.

If you enjoy seeing Santa ride into downtown Hellertown on a fire truck, you'll want to mark your calendars for Friday, Nov. 29 (Black Friday) at 6 p.m.

That's when the borough's annual Light-Up Night sponsored by the Hellertown-Lower Saucon Chamber of Commerce will be held.

The lineup of Light-Up Night events is as follows:

6 p.m. - Hot chocolate and cookies will be served while members of the Saucon Valley H.S. Band perform holiday favorites. There will also be a drawing held for a Hellertown-Lower Saucon shopping spree.

6:30 p.m. - Local Girl Scouts will lead a round of festive caroling.

6:40 p.m. - Hellertown Mayor Richard Fluck will deliver a welcome address and help turn on the lights at Detwiller Plaza and around Borough Hall.

6:45 p.m. - Santa will arrive by fire truck.

7 p.m. - Santa will greet children inside Borough Hall (photos will be available).

According to a flyer, donations for this year's event have been made by Russ Lebkuecher/The Meadows, Just Born Inc. and The Crayola Factory.
