Lower Saucon Police Officer Promoted to Full-Time

Officer James Connell was promoted to the position of full-time patrolman on Monday, Jan. 16, the Lower Saucon Police Department announced in a press release.

A part-time police officer has been promoted to the position of full-time patrolman with the Lower Saucon Township Police Department, announced Monday.

Officer James Connell was promoted on Monday, Jan. 16, and will continue to fill the role of bicycle officer in addition to performing his regular patrol duties, the statement said. Connell also oversees the police department's medical kits and automated external defibrillators (AEDs).

Connell is a graduate of  and a township resident. Currently, he is a student at Northampton Community College, where he is studying criminal justice.

He is EMT-certified and is a graduate of the Allentown Police Academy's Act 120 Basic Police Officer Certification Course, the township said.

Connell's career with the Lower Saucon Police Department began in January 2010. In the past, he has been employed as a part-time officer by the and Moore Township police departments. Since 2005, he has also been a Lehigh University police officer, most recently serving as an investigator, the press release indicated.
