About Tamara
I've been married to my Knight in Shining Armour, Matt Kells, for almost 23 years. We have three beautiful (as opposed to horribly unattractive) children; Aubrie, 20, Elyse, 19, and Dakota (Boy), 15. We have quite the menagerie of animals in our house at any given time. Right now, we have two labs, a ferret, a cat and a koi pond. We've had birds, a chinchilla and rabbits in the past as well. I draw the line at snakes; shudder. However, Boy is trying to get me to consider a monkey. I'm hoping that's just a phase.
We own Palm Business Center, which encompasses a lot - shipping, business cards, eBay, and graphic arts design. They don't let me do anything, though, as Matt's pretty sure I'll break something. No, really; Matt doesn't like me being around any type of electronics that I might accidentally screw up. He says that I know just enough to get myself into trouble, so they let me visit occasionally but I'm not allowed to touch anything. Apparently, I'm also enough to piss off the Pope.
Last year, I battled, and so far have beaten, breast cancer. There were a lot of ups and downs in that journey, which I documented in my blog, "The Brunette Lucy vs. Breast Cancer - And Cancer Can Suck It". I actually won an award for being one of the top 100 breast cancer blogs - holy cows! People are just handing awards out left and right if I got one! I admit I'd really rather not have had that distinction, but I'm a mom, so I'll take whatever adult accolades I can get. I still have reconstruction surgery ahead of me, which we call my "addaboobtome". Nervous, but really ready, for that surgery.
I feel blessed to be back at work, doing what I love. And I have my editor, the awesome & handsome Josh Popichak, to thank for allowing me to get back into some semblance of normalcy since my fight.
I'm also so very grateful to you, who spent your time to read the drivel that I write. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. All in all, I'm one lucky Lucy.
