Lower Saucon Township Police say Howard Tkacik, of Upper Saucon Township, struck a pedestrian at Kenny Headman Lane and Route 378 on Dec. 3.
An Upper Saucon Township motorist struck a pedestrian near Se-Wy-Co Volunteer Fire Company Dec. 3, Lower Saucon Township Police announced in a press release Monday. Police said Howard Tkacik, of the 7400 block of Flint Forest Drive, was attempting to turn right from Kenny Headman Lane--the road next to the fire house--onto Route 378 when the accident occurred. Authorities identified the pedestrian Tkacik allegedly struck as Frances Sefranek, of the 3500 block of McCloskey Avenue, Lower Saucon Township. Police said Sefranek was walking northbound and was taken to a local hospital for treatment following the accident. However, they did not specify the extent of her injuries in the press release. Gunshots were heard in the vicinity of Old Bethlehem Pike and East Oakhurst Drive in Upper Saucon Township late Friday night, and a hit-and-run pedestrian accident was reported in that area around the same time, according to a story published Saturday by the Morning Call. The area is just west of Route 378, and south of the Lower Saucon-Upper Saucon boundary line. According to the Morning Call article, a 55-year-old man was struck in the 4000 block of Old Bethlehem Pike at 11:10pm Friday by a car that continued north on Route 378. Lower Saucon Township Police say Dorothy Zesch, of the township, struck Laurette Sauter, of Springfield Township, in the parking lot of the Giant Food Store at 1880 Leithsville Road on Feb. 13.
Police have released the name of the motorist who allegedly struck a pedestrian in the parking lot of the Giant Food Store in Lower Saucon Township Feb. 13. According to a Lower Saucon Police Department press release issued Monday, Dorothy Zesch, of the 1800 block of Felicity Lane, Lower Saucon Township, was the driver who struck Laurette Sauter, of the 3500 block of Buckwampum Road, Springfield Township, at approximately 4:21pm. Police said that upon officers' arrival at the scene, "(Sauter) was lying in the parking lot and when EMS arrived she was transported to St. Luke's Hospital." On Monday afternoon a woman was reportedly struck twice by a car in the Giant Food Store parking lot at 1880 Leithsville Road in Lower Saucon Township, according to a story published by The Morning Call. The newspaper said an ambulance was dispatched to the parking lot at 4:20pm and cited police radio reports that indicated the 50-year-old woman was conscious and "not pinned" following the accident. A Lower Saucon Township man will be cited for careless driving, following a Dec. 26 accident in which a pedestrian was struck in the Giant Food Store parking lot at 1880 Leithsville Road, township police announced Wednesday. According to a police department press release, Charles Martin Meixsell, 42, of the 1600 block of Weavers Lane, was the operator of a vehicle that struck Triss Robinson, 64, of Ringing Rocks Road, Upper Black Eddy. When police arrived at the scene of the incident at 7:32pm, they said Robinson "was observed on the ground lying on her back." Dewey Ambulance responded to the accident scene and transported Robinson to St. Luke's Hospital for further evaluation, police said.
