Lower Saucon Township Police say a brown dog was found walking along the road on Saturday afternoon.
Lower Saucon Township Police reported in an email that a dog was found walking along Redington Road in the Steel City area of the township around 1:30 p.m. Saturday. The dog had a black collar with no tags, police said. Anyone with information about the dog's identity should contact Lower Saucon Police via the Northampton County non-emergency number: 610-759-2200.
A male German Shepherd was recently found on the border between Bethlehem and Lower Saucon Township, in the area of Ringhoffer Road. His owner is being sought.
According to a posting Wednesday on the Lost and Found Pets of the Lehigh Valley area Facebook page, a male German Shepherd dog was found near the Bethlehem/Lower Saucon Township border Tuesday evening. "He is a little scared right now and looks like he has been on his own for a while," wrote the author of the posting. "Get to know him and he warms right up. You can tell he just wants to go home!" According to a Craigslist ad, the dog had no collar on, is not microchipped, and is neutered. He was found in the area of Ringhoffer Road, according to that ad. The 10-year-old "fur baby" from Allentown has been repeatedly sighted in the Saucon Valley area. However, in spite of the efforts of her owners and volunteers, she remains missing.

Do you know anyone who's lost a Cocker Spaniel-type dog in the Hellertown area? According to a local Craigslist ad posted Jan. 2, such a dog was found recently in an area of woods. The writer of the ad says the dog weighs about 20 pounds and has a docked tail. Before he was shaved, the "intact," beige male dog looked like "Benji," according to the ad. Karen Anders' dog, Winston, disappeared Monday from the area of Front and Walnut streets in Hellertown.
UPDATE, 12pm: Owner Karen Anders has reported that her dog has been found and returned to her, thanks to help from the people at the Sure Shine Car Wash on Main Street in Hellertown. Winston, who is now home, was found Monday night and given shelter from the sub-freezing temperatures, Anders said. The car wash is located about two blocks north of the area where Winston went missing Monday afternoon. A Hellertown woman searching for her missing dog is seeking help from the public. Thanks to the people at the Sure Shine Car Wash on Main St, I was able to find my dog. The owner had posted "Found Dog" signs on the telephone poles. A Patch reader has reported that a German Shepherd was found "wandering in the Wassergass area" on Tuesday morning, Oct. 11.
Are you missing your dog? If he's a younger German Shepherd without a collar he may be the pooch found wandering in the Wassergass area of Lower Saucon Township this morning. A Patch reader reported Tuesday afternoon that the dog was picked up by someone driving by and appears to be well-behaved and "just lost."
