Dog Bit Wassergass Bicyclist, Police Say

Lower Saucon Township Police say a dog owned by Stephen Kiefer, of Bethlehem Township, bit a bicyclist on Wassergass Road.

A Bethlehem Township man was cited for a violation of the Lower Saucon Township dog confinement law, after police say his dog bit a bicyclist in the 2200 block of Wassergass Road. According to a police news release, the dog owned by Stephen Kiefer, of the 1800 block of Third Street, walked into the roadway and bit a township woman in the calf. The bite to the bicyclist caused "minor puncture wounds and swelling of the skin," police said, adding that the woman was treated by EMS personnel. The alleged incident occurred May 10 at about 5:30 p.m.

Man Backed Into Car in Giant Parking Lot, Police Say

Lower Saucon Township Police say a motorist backed into a car in the Giant shopping center parking lot at 1880 Leithsville Road. Loose dogs and illegal dumping also were among police reports.

Man Backed Into Car in Shopping Center Parking Lot, Police Say Richard T. Kunkle, of the 3700 block of Oliver Street, Upper Saucon Township, was parking his vehicle at 3:30 p.m. on March 14 when he backed into another vehicle in the Giant shopping center parking lot at 1880 Leithsville Road, Lower Saucon Township, police said. Kunkle was cited for Limitations on Backing, they said. Woman's German Shepherd Went After Neighbor, Police Say

Lower Saucon Township Police say Ursula Merriman, of the 3900 block of Lower Saucon Road, was cited for a dog law violation after her German Shepherd allegedly ran toward a neighbor in an aggressive manner.

A Lower Saucon Township woman was cited for a dog law violation Nov. 26, after police say her German Shepherd dog left her property and ran toward a neighbor in an aggressive manner. In a press release issued Saturday, police said the dog owned by Ursula Merriman, of the 3900 block of Lower Saucon Road, ran toward Michael Estojack, who was outside on his property at about 1:20pm. The dog "started barking aggressively and appeared as if (it) was going to bite him," police said. Estojack got into his truck and stayed there until the dog ran back to Merriman, they added. Merriman was cited for "confinement of animals" because this was not the first incident involving her dog, police said.

Woman Arrested for DUI at Countryside Lane and Easton Road On Aug. 4 at 2:04am police say Donna Marie Pinkowicz, of the 3400 block of Lower Saucon Road, Lower Saucon Township, was stopped for a traffic infraction at Countryside Lane and Easton Road. Police said in a press release that Pinkowicz was found to be under the influence of alcohol, with a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .15 percent. Pinkowicz has been charged with DUI, they added. Man Arrested for DUI Near Bethlehem-Lower Saucon Border On Aug. 5 at 1:44am police say Khanh D. Ho, 44, of the first block of Roosevelt Avenue, Hatfield, was stopped for speeding on Route 378 near West Eighth Street in Bethlehem.
