Rt. 412 Closure in Hellertown Confirmed for Thursday

The closure of a one-block section of Main Street in downtown Hellertown will occur from about 9am to 1pm Thursday, Dec. 13. The closure is planned to help facilitate the movement of a 500,000-pound piece of equipment.

The Route 412 closure that was originally planned for Wednesday morning has been confirmed for Thursday, Dec. 13, the Borough of Hellertown has announced. The 600 block of Main Street in downtown Hellertown will be closed between Water and Penn streets from approximately 9am to 1pm so a temporary bridge can be placed over the culvert that diverts the Silver Creek underneath the roadway in that block. A temporary bridge is needed because Central Jersey Trucking and Rigging will be moving a 500,000-pound piece of equipment south on Route 412 from the Commerce Industrial Park in Bethlehem--a move that has been approved by PennDOT.
