Is Your Favorite Eatery Signed Up for S.V. Restaurant Week?

The second annual Saucon Valley Restaurant Week is Sunday, July 21 to Saturday, July 27. So far, 11 local dining establishments are planning to participate.

This year the second annual Saucon Valley Restaurant Week will be held in Hellertown and Lower Saucon Township from Sunday, July 21 to Saturday, July 27, and a preliminary list of participating dining establishments is now available from the Hellertown BBRP (Borough Business Revitalization Program). So far, the following restaurants have agreed to take part in the week-long, BBRP-sponsored event: Braveheart Highland Pub and Restaurant Yianni's Taverna Sagra Bistro DiMaio's Family Restaurant Ricardo's Original Tavern House McDonald's of Hellertown Hellertown Deli and Pita House Bella's Ristorante Cafe Erica Mike's Kids Doggie Shop Red Brick Grille (Revolutions at Saucon Valley) All of the above-named participants took part in last year's …

I actually thought about putting Costco on the list but I decided not to because it's not just a supermarket. I would consider it a big box store (plus it's members only). Still, I know many area residents have been hopeful for one for years.   more ›

Apricot Lane Boutique to Open at Promenade Shops

The nationally recognized women's clothing retailer is readying for a grand opening at The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley.

Sprucing up that wardrobe for spring will be a whole lot more fun this season, thanks to the upcoming Grand Opening of Apricot Lane Boutique in The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley. Owned by longtime Center Valley resident Susan Kittle, Apricot Lane Boutique specializes in women’s clothing, jewelry, handbags, accessories and gift items for women of all ages. The Promenade Shops Grand Opening celebration kicks off on April 12, and will continue throughout the following weekend, according to a press release by Apricot Lane. Discounts will be offered throughout the store, as well as a chance to win a $200 shopping spree, the release said. Sportsmen's Club Plans Meat Shoot

The Spring Valley Sportsmen's Club is planning a Meat Shoot on its property near the Saucon Rail Trail on Sunday, April 14.

The Spring Valley Sportsmen’s Club will hold a Meat Shoot on the grounds of the club on Sunday, April 14 from noon to 5pm, according to an announcement posted on the Hellertown Borough website. The club is located at Green Acres Drive adjacent to the Saucon Rail Trail.  The shoot will be held to benefit the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission's Cooperative Trout Hatchery. According to the borough, club officials have indicated that contestants will be using low recoil, low noise shot shells during the competition in order to minimize disturbance to neighbors and to visitors using the rail trail. The Sportsmen’s Club is requesting that rail trail users with dogs refrain from watering the animals on their property during the shoot. If you …

Steel Hawks Coach to Headline Relay for Life Kick-Off

The annual kick-off event for Relay for Life of Saucon Valley, which benefits the American Cancer Society, will be held at the Meadows in Lower Saucon Township on April 10.

The American Cancer Society and Relay for Life of Saucon Valley have announced that Lehigh Valley Steel Hawks coach Ken Miller will be the guest speaker at the 2013 Saucon Valley Kick-Off event—aka the Power of Purple Pasta Party—on April 10. The kick-off will be held at the Meadows, 1770 Meadows Road, Hellertown, from 6 to 8pm (doors will open at 5:30pm). Tickets will be available for a $10 donation, with guests under age 5 free. The donation includes a spaghetti dinner, door prizes and a basket raffle. Proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society Lehigh Valley Unit. Buy Spring Plants from the S.V. Booster Club

The Saucon Valley Athletic Booster Club is selling hanging baskets and flats for pickup May 2.

The Saucon Valley Athletic Booster Club is currently sponsoring a spring plant sale. Beautiful hanging baskets and flats are available for order by April 15 (see attached order form for details). Pick up for all plants will be May 2 from 3 to 7pm at the loading dock next to the elementary school gym entrance. Orders should be turned in at the schools' main offices and must be accompanied by a check for the full amount of the order made out to S.V. Booster Club in an envelope labeled "plant sale." However, all stores will be closed on Easter Sunday, March 31. Banks - Most are OPEN. Call your local branch for confirmation of hours. Retail stores - Most will be OPEN.
