Lower Saucon Township Police say the fiery accident happened on Apple Street.
A 17-year-old boy was behind the wheel of a car that struck a tree and "burst into flames" on Apple Street Jan. 19, Lower Saucon Township Police announced in a press release late last week. Police said the accident happened in the 2500 block of Apple Street at 8:25 p.m. They added that the car only caught fire after the driver and a passenger got out of it. Authorities identified the passenger as a 14-year-old girl from Hellertown, and said she was "hospitalized for multiple injuries" following the accident. According to police, the driver was cited for careless driving, reckless driving, and failure to drive at a safe speed.

Lower Saucon Township Police allege that Jennifer Lynn Bauer, of Hellertown, attempted to strike her husband's vehicle while their children were inside it.
A verbal argument between a husband and wife from Hellertown spun out of control and escalated to the point where a police officer was kicked by the woman, Lower Saucon Township police said in a press release Thursday. On April 5 at 8:10pm, officers were dispatched to the Creekside Marketplace shopping center at 1880 Leithsville Road after receiving a report of "a wife attacking her husband," the release said. Prior to that, and following an argument, police say Jason Bauer left the residence he and his wife, Jennifer Lynn Bauer, 28, share at 127 Main St., Hellertown.
