Juvenile Possessed 'Synthetic Cannabinoids,' Police Say On Nov. 23, 2011, police say they were dispatched to Cherry Street for a drug investigation involving a juvenile male. Police said in a March 29 press release that their investigation has since led them to charge the juvenile with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Borough Man Allegedly Planned to Threaten Sister with Gun

According to court records, Michael Stephen Kolesnik, of Hellertown, was apprehended by police after he allegedly drove to his sister's home on Brad Lane in Lower Saucon Township with a loaded Remington rifle on Sunday.

A Hellertown man has been charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, reckless endangerment, drunken driving and eluding police, following an alleged weekend incident that is detailed in court records, the Express-Times reported Monday. According to the article, Michael Stephen Kolesnik, 54, of the first block of West Depot Street, was apprehended by police on Sunday, after he allegedly drove to his sister's home in the 1700 block of Brad Lane, Lower Saucon Township, with a loaded Remington rifle in his car and plans to confront and threaten her. County Council Looking at $6 Million Energy Plan

Projects could save taxpayers nearly $10 million over 15 years.

Northampton County Council will vote Thursday night on whether to approve $6.1 million in repairs to the heating, cooling and plumbing systems in several county buildings. Council's Finance Committee on Wednesday heard from representatives from the McClure Company, a Harrisburg-based PPL subsidiary that would handle the work. If approved by council, the company will go to work on 20 different projects over the next 12 months. On Wednesday, McClure representatives outlined six repair/replacement projects that are the highest priority: These six projects would account for half of what the county would spend. McClure says the county would end up saving close to $10 million in energy costs over the next 15 years if it made these changes. …

Alleged Meth Lab Discovered at Lower Nazareth Hotel

Colonial Regional Police say that after a fire alarm went off, they uncovered a "working" meth lab inside the Hampton Inn on Easton-Nazareth Highway in Lower Nazareth Township.

A modern hotel with an automated fire alarm system probably isn't the most logical place to set up an illegal methamphetamine lab, but that's where Colonial Regional Police say Todd Laudenbach, 37, of Bushkill Township, and Denene Noel, 38, of Saylorsburg, decided to go in order to manufacture the illicit street drug commonly known as "meth." According to a public information release issued by the department Sunday, police, the Hecktown Fire Department and EMS were dispatched to the Hampton Inn at 3723 Easton-Nazareth Highway in Lower Nazareth Township at 10:49am Saturday, after an alarm went off in Room 222. Lower Saucon Man Charged with Retail Theft

Colonial Regional Police say Richard Baker IV stole $169 worth of electronics from the Walmart in Lower Nazareth Township.

Retail Theft: A Lower Saucon Township man was charged with retail theft March 13, after he allegedly fled the Walmart Supercenter in Lower Nazareth Township on March 7 with $169 worth of electronics, according to Colonial Regional Police. Police were able to stop Richard Baker IV, of Saucon Meadow Court, on Route 248 shortly after he fled, and took him into custody. Baker was arraigned at Northampton County central booking and taken to Northampton County Prison on $5,000 cash bail.
