Macarro Way Mailbox Vandalized, Police Say

Lower Saucon Township Police say a mailbox in the 2800 block of Macarro Way was destroyed when it was struck by a blunt object. Police have also released details about other recent incidents.

Mailbox Damage on Macarro Way Was Criminal Mischief, Police Say Lower Saucon Township Police say they are investigating damage to a mailbox in the 2800 block of Macarro Way. In a press release, police said an officer was dispatched to the residence of John Gervasi on the afternoon of Feb. 26. Police said Gervasi "related that he discovered his mailbox in pieces on the ground...after it was struck by a blunt object." Police said the estimated cost to replace the mailbox is $100. Anyone with information about this incident--which police have labeled criminal mischief--is asked to call the Lower Saucon Police Department at 610-317-6110. Traffic Stop on Buttermilk Road Yields Pot, Police Say

Lower Saucon Township Police also announced recently that a Sherry Hill Road resident was cited for a dog law violation.

Man Found in Possession of Small Amount of Marijuana, Police Say Following a Feb. 9 traffic stop by police on Buttermilk Road, Matthew Leidy, of the 2100 block of Freemansburg Avenue, Wilson, was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana, as well as drug paraphernalia, Lower Saucon Township police say. Police indicated in a press release that Leidy was arrested on charges of possession. Woman Cited for Dog Law Violation, Police Say Allison Marie Sterner, of the 4000 block of Sherry Hill Road, was cited for a dog law violation Feb. 13, after police say her dog was found roaming in the 3900 block of Sherry Hill Road at 12:41 p.m. Police said the citation was for "Confinement of Dogs." Son Blamed Accident on His Mom, Police Say

Lower Saucon Township Police also say a man was found to possess a small amount of marijuana after nearly crashing his car on Bingen Road.

Man Implicated Mother in Traffic Accident, Police Say Police say they were investigating an accident at the Saucon Square shopping center on Route 378 at 8:47 p.m. on Feb. 8 when Anthony Divergigelis, 24, of the 500 block of Juniper Street, Quakertown, told them he was not driving a vehicle involved in the crash and implicated his mother. Police said in a press release that further investigation revealed that Divergigelis "lied to police and...actually was the driver." Divergigelis was charged with false reports to law enforcement, driving under suspension and "driving at safe speed," police said. Woman Arrested for DUI at Route 378 and Black River Road On Dec. 22 at 11:08pm police say Michelle Bond, of the 1500 block of Coronado Street, Allentown, was southbound on Route 378 when she failed to stop at a red traffic light at Black River Road and rear-ended another vehicle. Police said in a press release that Bond was determined to be driving under the influence of alcohol, and that she was found to have a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .27 percent. Bond was arrested for DUI and traffic violations, police added. Woman Arrested for DUI After Officer Notices Malfunctioning Headlight On Jan. 1 at 3:04am police say an officer who was assisting with a traffic stop on Route 378 observed a vehicle that was traveling northbound with a malfunctioning headlight. Police said in a press release that the vehicle was stopped and its driver identified as Cynthia Camacho, of the first block of West Central Avenue, Bangor. According to police, it was determined that Camacho had been drinking and she was administered field sobriety tests, which she allegedly failed. Man Arrested for DUI on Christmas Eve On Dec. 24 at 1:20am police say Moises Rodriquez, of the 2600 block of Farmersville Road, Bethlehem Township, Pa., was stopped for allegedly driving more than 20mph over the posted speed limit on Route 378 South. Police said in a press release that Rodriquez was determined to be driving with a suspended registration due to lack of insurance. A blood test indicated that Rodriquez was under the influence of marijuana, police said. He has been charged with DUI, they added. Men Arrested on Marijuana Charges Following Applebutter Road Vehicle Stop On Dec. 15 at 10:37pm police say they stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Applebutter Road. In a press release police said two occupants of the vehicle were subsequently found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana. Police identified the men as Joel Flammer, 18, of the 900 block of East Tilghman Street, Allentown, and Anthony Ortiz, 18, of the 900 block of Radclyffe Street, Bethlehem. Man Arrested for DUI at Hickory Hill Road and Pleasant Drive On Sept. 30 at 1:20am police say James Murphy, of the first block of Baker Lane, East Haddam, Conn., was stopped at Hickory Hill Road and Pleasant Drive after he was allegedly observed traveling at a high rate of speed on Hickory Hill. Police said in a press release that Murphy--who they identified as a Lehigh University student--was "also seen crossing the center line." After he was stopped police say officers determined that Murphy may have consumed alcohol. After he failed field sobriety tests, police said Murphy was arrested for DUI. Man Was DUI Behind Dartford Road Home, Police Say On Dec. 7 at 2:11am police say Michael John Gursky, of the 1900 block of Dartford Road, Lower Saucon Township, was found in the rear yard of a neighbor's home "near the tree line with the headlights on and his car running." In a press release police said an officer detected the odor of alcohol when speaking to Gursky, and that he was arrested on suspicion of DUI after he was administered field sobriety tests. "A small amount of marijuana and a smoking pipe were also discovered in the vehicle," authorities added. Gursky has been charged with DUI and possession of a small amount of marijuana. Man Arrested for DUI on Easton Road On Nov. 11 at 1:19am police say Brent Hosterman, of the 400 block of Main Street, Harleysville, was observed traveling at 67.8mph in a posted 45mph zone in the 2700 block of Easton Road. In a press release police said an officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage and observed signs of impairment in Hosterman, who allegedly failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI.
