Man Arrested for DUI on Easton Road On Nov. 11 at 1:19am police say Brent Hosterman, of the 400 block of Main Street, Harleysville, was observed traveling at 67.8mph in a posted 45mph zone in the 2700 block of Easton Road. In a press release police said an officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage and observed signs of impairment in Hosterman, who allegedly failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI. Police said Hosterman's blood alcohol content (BAC) was determined to be .10 percent. Man Arrested for DUI at Lower Saucon and Applebutter Roads On Oct. 27 at 4:36am police say they stopped Donald Smith Jr., of the first block of Young Street, Easton, at Applebutter and Lower Saucon roads, after he allegedly drove through a stop sign. Police said in a press release that Smith was driving with a broken tail light and that he was observed driving over the double yellow lines on the road. He was determined to have a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .11 percent, police said. Smith has been charged with DUI, they added. Township Man Allegedly Shot at Pumpkin

Christopher Green, 30, of 2235 Koehler Drive, Lower Saucon Township, faces charges after allegedly firing at a gourd Wednesday.

A Lower Saucon Township man was jailed Thursday morning after he allegedly got drunk and started shooting at a pumpkin. Township police say Christopher Green, 30, of 2235 Koehler Drive, Apt. 1, fired shots from a .22 caliber handgun at a pumpkin across the street from his home. According to court records, Green's landlord told police he had heard shooting late Wednesday night, and found Green behind the property. Police say Green had been drinking, and admitted he was "just shooting a pumpkin." His 5-year-old son was sleeping inside the apartment during the shooting. Green is charged with reckless endangerment, possession of an instrument of crime, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct. He was arraigned early Thursday morning before on…

Bus Driver Headed to Sands to be Cited in Route 378 Crash

No one was injured in the bus crash on Route 378 on Saturday, Lower Saucon police say. Citations do not indicate a conviction.

  A bus driver carrying about 40 passengers to the Sands Casino will be cited for reckless driving following an accident shortly before noon Saturday on Route 378, Lower Saucon police said. Russell Gray, of Philadelphia, will be charged by mail with reckless driving and driving at an unsafe speed. According to police, Gray was driving a charter bus north on Route 378, at Koeler Drive, when he rear-ended two SUVs. In all, five vehicles were involved in the crash.  No one was injured.

Man Arrested for DUI on Mountain Drive On Sept. 15 at 1:18am police say Felix Perez, of the 1200 block of East Fourth Street, Bethlehem, was stopped on Mountain Drive for allegedly driving erratically on Mountain Drive and Old Philadelphia Pike. Police said in a press release that Perez was found to be under the influence of alcohol and taken to the Bethlehem DUI Center. He was determined to have a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .15 percent, according to police, who said he has been charged with DUI and careless driving. Property Owner Cited Following High Weed Complaint On Sept. 14 police say Francis Deprill, of the 3300 block of Airport Road, Hanover Township, Lehigh County, was cited for a township ordinance violation after police received a complaint about high weeds at a property he owns at 1283 Seidersville Road. Police said in a press release that Deprill's property was found to be in violation of the ordinance because there was vegetation on it that was in excess of 12 inches high and within 50 feet of a roadway or property line. Man Arrested for DUI Following Black River Road Accident On July 3 at 6:43am police say they responded to a report of a car off the road on Black River Road. Police said they arrived at the scene of the accident to find that Colin Strawn, 19, of the 400 block of West Hamilton Street, Allentown, had gone off the road and struck a tree. "(The) officer spoke with the driver, who advised that he was travelling too fast while rounding the curve in the roadway," police said in a press release. A blood test determined Strawn's blood alcohol content (BAC) to be .11 percent, they added. Lower Saucon PD Welcomes New Full-Time Patrolman

Easton resident Shawn Moskella was sworn-in as a full-time patrolman with the Lower Saucon Township Police Department on July 18, 2012.

An Easton resident who has been a part-time patrolman for the Lower Saucon Township Police Department since 2009 was recently promoted to full-time status. The LSTPD announced earlier this month that Shawn Moskella was sworn-in as a full-time Lower Saucon police patrolman on Wednesday, July 18, as his parents, grandparents and girlfriend looked on. Moskella's mother pinned his new badge on his uniform as part of the swearing-in ceremony. Moskella is a 2000 graduate of Notre Dame High School and earned a Bachelor's Degree in criminal justice from East Stroudsburg University in 2004. He is a 2005 graduate of the Allentown Police Academy. In addition to working part-time for the LSTPD, Moskella also previously worked as a part-time patrolman …

Police: Donations to Leithsville Fire Fund Stolen

Lower Saucon Township Police say a donation jar containing approximately $150 was reported stolen from Feasta Pizza July 16. The money was to benefit the Leithsville Building Fund, police said.

Approximately $150 that had been collected for the Leithsville Building Fund in a jar on the counter at Feasta Pizza was reported stolen July 16, Lower Saucon Township Police announced in a press release Wednesday. The building fund was established after the landmark volunteer fire station on Leithsville Road was destroyed in a fiery dump truck accident May 24. A local resident was killed in the accident, and the driver of the dump truck was seriously burned. Police are asking anyone with information about the theft of the donation jar to contact the Lower Saucon Police Department at 610-317-6110.

High Speed Chase on Rt. 378 Leads to Charges

A Bethlehem man accused of eluding a traffic stop in Lower Saucon Township on July 4 now faces multiple charges.

A Bethlehem man who eluded a Lower Saucon Township police officer on a high-speed chase during the early morning hours of July 4 is in prison on suspicion of multiple infractions, according to court records. Laquan Marquise Knolton, 23, of 484 Birkel Ave., allegedly fled north on Route 378 into Bethlehem driving at well over 60 mph after the Lower Saucon officer attempted to stop him with police lights at N. Mountain Drive, according to the arrest warrant against him. According to the affidavit of probable cause: Knolton was apprehended Saturday morning and charged with fleeing or eluding a police officer, reckless endangerment and multiple vehicular offenses.
