Dog Found Along Redington Road

Lower Saucon Township Police say a brown dog was found walking along the road on Saturday afternoon.

Lower Saucon Township Police reported in an email that a dog was found walking along Redington Road in the Steel City area of the township around 1:30 p.m. Saturday. The dog had a black collar with no tags, police said. Anyone with information about the dog's identity should contact Lower Saucon Police via the Northampton County non-emergency number: 610-759-2200.

German Shepherd Found at Township Border

A male German Shepherd was recently found on the border between Bethlehem and Lower Saucon Township, in the area of Ringhoffer Road. His owner is being sought.

According to a posting Wednesday on the Lost and Found Pets of the Lehigh Valley area Facebook page, a male German Shepherd dog was found near the Bethlehem/Lower Saucon Township border Tuesday evening. "He is a little scared right now and looks like he has been on his own for a while," wrote the author of the posting. "Get to know him and he warms right up. You can tell he just wants to go home!" According to a Craigslist ad, the dog had no collar on, is not microchipped, and is neutered. He was found in the area of Ringhoffer Road, according to that ad. The dog is currently being cared for by the City of Bethlehem Police Department's Animal Control Office. Anyone who knows the dog's identity should call 610-997-7641.

[Updated] Tan and White Puppy Found on First Avenue

Prior to being captured, the puppy was seen in various other locations around Hellertown.

Update: As of Thursday evening the puppy has been reunited with his owner. A stray puppy was found Thursday at about 11:40 a.m., the Borough of Hellertown has announced.   The tan and white dog is a neutered male of an unknown breed. Although he was found at 1123 First Ave., he was previously sighted in various places around Hellertown, "so he has been wandering," borough staff said. Anyone with information about the dog's ownership should call the borough at 610-838-7041 or police at 610-838-7040.

Afghan Hound Dog Spotted Around L. Saucon

According to a Lower Saucon Township Police alert, the dog has been spotted in the area of Mountain Drive South, Seidersville Road, Route 378 and Stonesthrow Road.

A tan, long-haired Afghan hound dog has been seen throughout eastern Lower Saucon Township, according to a Lower Saucon Township Police news alert. Police said the dog was seen March 26 and 27 along Mountain Drive South, Seidersville Road, Route 378, Old Philadelphia Pike, Hickory Hill Road, Stonesthrow Road and Fieldstone Drive. "The dog is very skittish and will not allow anyone to get near it," police said. If your missing dog matches this description, or you know someone whose dog is missing, police are requesting that you call the Northampton County Non-Emergency number (610-759-2200) and ask that your name and dog be put into the "Lost/Found Dog Book." Volunteers Needed to Help Search for 'Ruby' Saturday

An aerial search for "Ruby the Lost Greyhound" is planned for Saturday. Ruby went missing more than two months ago. Volunteers are being asked to meet at Hellertown's Water Street Park to assist with the search.

The aerial search for "Ruby the Lost Greyhound" that's twice been postponed is now rescheduled for Saturday morning, and it looks like the weather will finally cooperate. The forecast for Saturday calls for partly cloudy skies above Hellertown, with high temperatures in the low 40s expected. Ruby, a 10-year-old white greyhound from Allentown, has been missing for more than two months. The most recent sightings of her have been in the Saucon Valley area, which is why the aerial quadrant search by volunteers from the Brave Tide Foundation is planned for that area. Despite Efforts, 'Ruby the Greyhound' Still Lost

The 10-year-old "fur baby" from Allentown has been repeatedly sighted in the Saucon Valley area. However, in spite of the efforts of her owners and volunteers, she remains missing.

UPDATE: The aerial search rescheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 16 has been postponed due to the weather forecast. It has been rescheduled for Saturday, Jan. 19 at 10am. Volunteers are still needed, and should plan to meet at Water Street Park (Hellertown) at 9:30am. For Facebook updates, like the "Ruby the Lost Greyhound" page. Sunday marked the two-month anniversary of the disappearance of a beloved 10-year-old pet from her Allentown home, and in spite of the dedicated efforts of many Saucon Valley area volunteers, "Ruby the Greyhound" remains missing. Sign Blitz Planned for 'Ruby the Lost Greyhound'

Ruby, a greyhound from Allentown, has been missing since Nov. 13. She has been repeatedly sighted in the Saucon Valley area, which is where volunteers plan to distribute flyers on Saturday.

The owners of a dog who's been missing since mid-November are hoping a Saucon Valley information blitz planned for Saturday will help bring her home. "Ruby the Lost Greyhound" has become something of a local Facebook phenomenon since she disappeared from her East Tioga Street, Allentown home on Nov. 13. Since then she's been sighted in the area of Stabler Arena in Lower Saucon Township, which is where she was last seen on Dec. 16. Ruby, a former racing dog, has a scar on her face and weighs about 50 pounds. She is white with a cropped tail, without tags, and a reward is being offered for her return. [UPDATED] Lab Puppy Found on Main Street

The male puppy was found at 1425 Main St., Hellertown, on Thursday afternoon. His owner is being sought.

Update: The borough announced at noon on Friday, Nov. 16 that the lost dog's owner has been located. A black male Labrador retriever puppy was found at 1425 Main St., Hellertown, Thursday afternoon. That address is near the intersection of Main and High streets. The dog's owner is being sought, and anyone with information about his identity should contact Hellertown Borough staff at 610-838-7041. Stray dogs found in the borough are temporarily cared for at a canine holding facility near the Walnut Street crossing on the Saucon Rail Trail.

Borough Seeks Owner of Lost Dog

The pup was found in the 1000 block of Northampton Street, Hellertown, over the weekend.

The Borough of Hellertown hopes to reunite a dog found in the 1000 block of Northampton Street over the weekend with its owner. A photo of the small white dog with tan ears was posted on Hellertown Patch's Facebook page Monday morning. Anyone who recognizes the dog or has information about it is asked to call the borough at 610-838-7041. Pending reunification with their owners, stray dogs found in Hellertown are cared for by the Hellertown Police Department in kennels near the grist mill on Walnut Street.
