Driver Tried to 'Beat Traffic' on Rt. 378, Police Say

Lower Saucon Township Police say Erik Ward, 38, of Center Valley, caused an accident at Route 378 and Koehler Drive.

Lower Saucon Township Police say an Upper Saucon Township man will be cited for following too closely and driving with a suspended license, after he allegedly caused a car accident at Route 378 and Koehler Drive May 3. In a press release, police said Erik Ward, 38, of the 2800 block of Station Avenue, Center Valley, was in the process of turning from Route 378 onto Koehler when he tried "to beat traffic." Police said that as he turned, Ward rear-ended another vehicle in front of him. The accident occurred at about 6 p.m., police said.

Cell Phone Fell Off Car Roof in L. Saucon, Police Say

Lower Saucon Township Police say a girl's cell phone fell off a car roof on Sunday.

Lower Saucon Township Police are seeking the public's help in locating a missing cell phone. In a news release, police said the phone was reported missing Sunday at about 10:30 p.m. Police said a township woman told them the phone fell off her car roof somewhere between the intersection of Koehler Drive and Route 378 and the intersection of Seidersville and Hickory Hill roads. The phone is described as a "blue LG phone with a hairband around it" and belongs to the woman's daughter, police said. Anyone with knowledge of the phone is asked to call Lower Saucon Police at 610-317-6110.

Township Man Allegedly Shot at Pumpkin

Christopher Green, 30, of 2235 Koehler Drive, Lower Saucon Township, faces charges after allegedly firing at a gourd Wednesday.

A Lower Saucon Township man was jailed Thursday morning after he allegedly got drunk and started shooting at a pumpkin. Township police say Christopher Green, 30, of 2235 Koehler Drive, Apt. 1, fired shots from a .22 caliber handgun at a pumpkin across the street from his home. According to court records, Green's landlord told police he had heard shooting late Wednesday night, and found Green behind the property. Police say Green had been drinking, and admitted he was "just shooting a pumpkin." His 5-year-old son was sleeping inside the apartment during the shooting. Green is charged with reckless endangerment, possession of an instrument of crime, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct. He was arraigned early Thursday morning before on…

He shot the pumpkin across the street towards rt378. anyone driving on 378 could have been shot for no reason at all. Thankfully I stayed in my house that night and didn't go to the supermarket as originally planned with my children.   more ›
