Man Allegedly Stole Thousands in Jewelry
Dylan William Cawley, 25, of Easton, is accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of jewelry from a Hellertown apartment in January.
A Hellertown woman knew some relatives would be at her Main Street apartment hanging Christmas decorations while she was out of town for a few days last month. But what she didn’t know was that one of the relatives, according to police, would steal at least $6,050 of her jewelry, court records say. In fact, the suspect--Dylan William Cawley, 25, of Easton--told police he used a key that was in his mother’s possession to enter the apartment on three separate occasions Dec. 15, 16 and 17, the records say. Cawley said he went to the apartment “in order to steal a large amount of jewelry each time," the records say.
