Where to Get Free Java for National Coffee Day 2012

Get your caffeine on and celebrate with a free cup of coffee.

If the first words out of your mouth every morning are, “I’ll have a large coffee”—or if you can’t even speak until after you’ve had your java fix—there's a national holiday created especially for you. America will put staunch tea drinkers to shame on National Coffee Day Sept. 29, when coffee fiends can rejoice and celebrate their beloved coffee bean with free brew from national chains. Coffee was first brought to America in the mid-1600s in a shipment en route to “New Amsterdam,” now known as New York, according to the National Coffee Association. We have that shipment and the Boston Tea Party to thank for turning the nation into coffee drinkers.   Some national chains will be giving out free cups of coffee during the week of Sept. 23.   …

Iced Coffee is Awesome in All Its Forms

On a really hot day, I could drink gallons of it.

It's the yin to piping hot coffee's yang. It's the darker, colder side of the coffee moon. And if I could just drink one thing for the rest of my life, I think it would be my choice. Of course, I'm referring to that most frigid and caffeinated of libations: iced coffee. And thankfully, I live in a country where it's sold just about everywhere, especially in the summer months. I say thankfully, because there are countries on Earth where (gasp) iced coffee is not commonly available. Yes, it is true. The iced coffee cult has yet to fully encircle the globe, although considering the number of expat Americans living abroad these days, I'm sure it's making inroads in many places.  In other countries my favorite beverage is available, but it's …

Josh, The Gyro Co. is on Airport Rd. in Bethlehem, in the new shopping center. The gyros are phenomenal there as well. I have to say none of it tastes as good than when you are on a pebbled beach facing the Aegean, but it's close enough!   more ›
