Robert Ravier of Hellertown has been placed on the Dean's List of Cornell University's College of Arts and Sciences for Excellence in Scholarship for the Fall 2012 semester, the school in upstate New York announced recently. A Hellertown native who recently graduated from Cornell University is making a name for herself in the fields of epilepsy research and advocacy, according to a story published in the Morning Call June 26. Kaitlin Hardy--who is now studying epilepsy in fruit flies in experiments at Lafayette College--was first diagnosed with a seizure disorder as a teenager, the story states. A Palisades High School graduate and former Parkettes gymnast, while studying and competing in gymnastics at Cornell, Hardy founded a support organization for students known as FACES (Facts, Advocacy and Control of Epileptic Seizures).
