Dogs Run Loose, Owner to Be Cited, Police Say

Lower Saucon Township Police say Marie G. Muschlitz, of Reading Drive, will be cited for confinement of dogs after her three dogs were found running loose on Brook Lane.

A township woman will be cited for Confinement of Dogs after her animals were found running loose in the 1800 block of Brook Lane March 4, Lower Saucon Township Police said in a press release. Police identified the dogs' owner as Marie G. Muschlitz, 51, of the 1800 block of Reading Drive. According to the release, officers arrived at the scene at 12:15 p.m. to find three dogs running loose.  "This (was) the second time the dogs became loose off the owner's property within a four month time period," police said.

Lower Saucon Township Police Blotter: May 8, 2012

Carbon County Man Charged With DUI On April 21 at 11:57pm police say an officer observed a tan Chevrolet make a traffic violation on East University Avenue near Rt. 378. Police said in a press release that the driver of the vehicle was identified as Cody Sallada, of the 300 block of Deer Lane, Lehighton. Sallada was found to be under the influence of marijuana "and also had a small amount of marijuana in his vehicle," police said. Sallada has been charged with DUI, possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and summary traffic violations, they added. Police: Owner of Puppy Sprayed with Pepper Spray Issued Citation

Police say Dawn Stein of Stonesthrow Road was issued a citation for "Confinement of Dogs" after her puppy went into the road and was sprayed with pepper spray by a passing dog-walker.

A Lower Saucon Township resident was cited Feb. 22 for allegedly failing to keep her dog confined to her property, township police said in a press release Friday. Police said that Dawn Stein, of the 1300 block of Stonesthrow Road, was issued a citation for "Confinement of Dogs" after her puppy went into the road in the late afternoon. When a woman who was "walking by with her dog" encountered the puppy, she sprayed it with pepper spray, police said in the release. Police identified the passing dog-walker as Nancy Santucci, also of the 1300 block of Stonesthrow Road, Lower Saucon Township.

I know this incident happened months ago, but it still bothers me that Ms Santucci would cause so many problems with neighbors. She needs to get a life. I have been neighbors with Dawn and family for over 20 years. They are wonderful people and didn't deserve what happened. Oh and I also agree with the comment made by Stephanie about the TPD.   more ›
