Bach Choir's Noon Concert Series Begins Again

This year's annual Bach Choir seven-concert noon concert series features the works of Bach and Vivaldi at Central Moravian Church in Bethlehem.

The Bach Choir of Bethlehem’s ninth season of Bach at Noon concerts began last week at Central Moravian Church. The seven-concert series features programs on the second Tuesday of the month, from 12:10 – 1:00pm, September-November 2012 and January-April 2013. Admission is free and no tickets are required. A free-will offering is collected. The Bach Choir recommends that people come early for seats, since the concerts have continued to attract close to capacity audiences. Each Bach at Noon concert features one vocal and one instrumental piece performed by members of The Bach Choir and Bach Festival Orchestra and distinguished soloists. Bach Choir Awarded NEA Art Works Grant

The choir will receive $10,000 to help support various local community programs.

The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) announced recently that The Bach Choir of Bethlehem is one of 788 not-for-profit organizations nationwide to receive an NEA Art Works grant for $10,000. The grant is in support of the choir's educational outreach programs. “The Bach Choir is extremely grateful to receive an NEA grant for a second year. Last year’s first NEA Art Works grant to The Choir was very significant in helping the success of our educational programs in reaching more than 13,000 people of all ages and walks of life, including many children who have never before experienced a classical music concert,” Bach Choir Executive Director Bridget George said. “It begins a process of life-long learning and enthusiasm.” This year the …
