Township Man Accused of Texting Threats, Assault

Brent Phillip Strohm, of Cobble Creek Court, Lower Saucon Township, allegedly threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend's male housemate in Hellertown, according to court records.

First, Brent Phillip Strohm sent text messages threatening to kill his ex-girlfriend’s male housemate in Hellertown, police said. "I’m waitin for ur that f----- outside. He is done. Im gonna kill that ginger," he texted to the woman. Then Strohm, by this time suspected to be highly intoxicated, tried to physically confront the woman and her friend after Strohm was kicked out of a borough bar on Main Street, police said in court records. But another man stepped between Strohm and his male target. Strohm allegedly struck the man in the middle, causing swelling, bleeding and bruising to his right eye and nose area. Police then arrived and with the help of pedestrians were directed to Strohm, who appeared to be walking away but started running…

Viewfinder: BBQ Raises Money for Angel 34 Charity

On June 30, an all-you-can-eat barbecue fundraiser at Beer Mussels Bar & Grille in Hellertown raised hundreds of dollars for Angel 34, a childhood cancer charity. For more information about the organization, visit www.angel34.org.

Chef Eric Neith, who prepared the food for the successful Angel 34 fundraiser at Beer Mussels pictured in the photos, has announced that he will lend his talents to another local event in September. Man Drove Drunk, Struck UGI Equipment Box, Police Say On June 1 at 1:32am police say Robert Shetrompf, of the 800 block of Wyandotte Street, Bethlehem, was observed by police after coming to a complete stop in the northbound traffic lane of Main Street near Christ Lutheran Church. Police said in a press release that after being stopped in the roadway for approximately two minutes, Shetrompf "proceeded across the southbound lane and parked in the southbound lane in front of JCL Automotive in the unit block of Main Street." An officer then activated his emergency audio and visual devices and attempted to pull Shetrompf over. At that time, police say Shetrompf "attempted to back up on Main Street and proceeded forward onto the sidewalk," …

Borough Man Allegedly Damages Police Holding Cell

Eric D. Beitz, 27, was arraigned on institutional vandalism and other charges Tuesday, as a result of alleged incidents at Beer Mussels Bar & Grille and the Hellertown Police Department Dec. 21.

A Hellertown man described by police as "visibly under the influence of alcohol" is accused of loud and violent behavior one night last week that allegedly included threatening to kill a police officer and destroying property at the police station. According to court records, the actions of Eric D. Beitz, 27, started at around 9:30pm Dec. 21, both inside and outside Beer Mussels Bar & Grille, 1214 Main St. Beitz allegedly harassed, cursed at and tried to pick fights with patrons. Records indicate that Beitz's destructive behavior continued at the borough police station, where he allegedly smashed an interview room microphone on the floor and broke a wooden bench bolted down in a holding cell, throwing it into the cell wall. Police Investigating Theft of Scooter from Main Street Yard On Nov. 3 at about 2:40pm police say a scooter was stolen from the yard of a home in the 200 block of Main Street. Police say the scooter is a silver Razor scooter with blue handlebars. Both Fox and Blueprint brand stickers are affixed to the base of the scooter, they added.
