Steel City Volunteer Fire Company is located in the Steel City section of Lower Saucon Township, across the river fromMore Freemansburg. Steel City Volunteer Fire Company was founded in 1958 to help protect the village of Steel City, which is geographically isolated from the rest of the township because of its location between the Lehigh River and an adjacent mountain. The fire company is identifiable as Northampton County Station 63. Steel City Volunteer Fire Company firefighters collaborate closely with their volunteer colleagues from Se-Wy-Co, Southeastern and Leithsville, in Lower Saucon; and Dewey Fire Company No. 1, in Hellertown. In addition to fire protection, Steel City Volunteer Fire Company also provides vehicle rescue services and water rescue services.

Founded in 1959, Southeastern Fire Company is an all-volunteer company headquartered in the southeast corner of LowerMore Saucon Township. The company's headquarters are located at the intersection of Wassergass Road and Crestline Drive, in what is considered to be the village of Wassergass. The company is adjacent to Southeastern Park. Annually, Southeastern volunteers respond to an average of 200 calls. Along with Se-Wy-Co, Steel City and Leithsville, Southeastern is one of Lower Saucon's four volunteer fire companies and one of five which serve the residents of the Saucon Valley (the fifth being Hellertown's Dewey Fire Company No. 1). Combined, the five companies respond to more than 1,500 emergency calls each year.

Founded in 1929, Leithsville Volunteer Fire Company is located in Lower Saucon Township. Nicknamed the "Fightin' 61st"More because of its designation as Northampton County's Station 61, Leithsville volunteers have historically worked closely with Lower Saucon's other volunteer fire companies--Se-Wy-Co, route: {:controller=>"listings", :action=>"show", :id=>"se-wy-co-fire-company"} -->, Southeastern and Steel City--as well as Hellertown's Dewey Fire Company No. 1.
