What you see is what you get ... simple honest food and service with patience and a smile. Portions on the ice cream are very large, dining areas and tables are clean, and the meat comes from a local supplier. Heaven knows where McDs and BK get their meat!

Vassi's is the kind of Mom & Pop place I remember from my childhood in Reading. They have absolutely wonderful gyros, excellent fries and milk shakes, and it's almost impossible for me to turn onto Main Street from the 78 exit without wanting to stop in there for something.

Vassi has run this place pretty much the same for decades. His regular customers return for consistantly good food. Everything on the menu is well made. A cut above the others. You can watch him hand - slice the meat right off of the roast when he makes your gyro..
