Saucon Rail Trail
The Saucon Rail Trail, which opened in 2011, is a five-mile path located on top of a former rail line that runs south from Hellertown through Lower Saucon Township to Upper Saucon Township Community Park. Plans call for the trail to be extended into the Borough of Coopersburg, and possibly north from Hellertown, where it currently ends at Bachman Street. The trail is accessible at various points in Hellertown, and parking is available at Water Street Park and Grist Mill Park. Lower Saucon Township has announced plans to create a trailhead that would include parking along Reading Drive. Benches have been installed along the trail to provide seating.
