Saucon Valley Lions Breakfast, Indoor Farmers' Market Opens for Season
Other highlights of the weekend will be the reopening of the Saucon Valley Compost Center for Christmas tree disposals on Saturday and the start of Lower Saucon Township park pavilion reservations for 2014 on Friday.

8:30 a.m., Lower Saucon Township begins accepting 2014 reservations for park pavilions
Saturday, Jan. 4
10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saucon Valley Compost Center open for yard waste and Christmas tree disposal, 2011 Springtown Hill Road, Hellertown
10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Ottsville Indoor Farmers' Market, Linden Hill Gardens, 8230 Easton Road, Ottsville. The market will be held on winter Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., beginning Jan. 4 and continuing until Feb. 22. Head to the greenhouse for fresh, local food and handmade products as well as winter activities including s’more making and skating. Featuring fresh food including bread and baked goods, cheese, eggs, greens, jams and jellies, prepared foods, organic coffee, award-winning cookies, alpaca wool goods, handmade soaps and natural body care, seasonal plants, crafts and more. 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Saucon Valley Lions Club Monthly Breakfast, Se-Wy-Co Fire Co. Banquet Hall, 3621 Old Philadelphia Pike, Bethlehem. January's breakfast special will be a Philly Cheesesteak Omelet. Bring a nonperishable food item to donate and receive 50 cents off the price of breakfast (all food will be donated to a local food bank).
