Relay for Life Plans Kick-Off Meeting, Fundraiser

Saucon Valley Relay for Life will kick off its 2012 Relay campaign at a meeting at Saucon Valley Elementary School on Wednesday, Nov. 9.

Saucon Valley Relay for Life-- that raises awareness of cancer as well as money for the American Cancer Society--will hold the official kick-off to its 2012 campaign on Wednesday, Nov. 9 at , organizers have announced.

Relay for Life 2012 will be held in Hellertown's on May 19 and May 20, 2012.

The 24-hour festival includes a walk-a-thon, presentations by cancer survivors, a vendor fair, entertainment, food, and many other activities that promote cancer awareness.

The kick-off meeting will be held in the elementary school's LGI Room and attendees should use door #6 (signs will be posted). The meeting is open to the public and all are welcome to attend.

Schneider also announced earlier this month that a fundraiser for Saucon Valley Relay for Life's Fighters for the Future team will be held Nov. 17 at 6pm.

The fundraiser will revolve around the premiere of the new "Twilight Saga" film, "Breaking Dawn," and will include tickets to a premier party at a barn on Hickory Hill Road in Lower Saucon Township, refreshments, door prizes, a small popcorn/soda, and a ticket to the midnight showing of "Breaking Dawn" at Rave Cinemas at the Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley.

Showings of the already-released "Twilight" films--including "New Moon" and "Eclipse"--will take place at the premier party.

Raffles and a 50/50 drawing will also be held, however entry in those contests is not included in the $30 ticket price.
