Rail Trail Seeks Volunteers for Kiosk Construction

The kiosk will be built at the Reading Drive trailhead in Lower Saucon Township.

The Saucon Rail Trail Oversight Commission is seeking volunteers to help build a kiosk along the trail, at the Reading Drive trailhead in Lower Saucon Township.

The trailhead, which was recently dedicated, is located near the intersection of Reading Drive and Bingen Road.

"The kiosk would be similar to the kiosks that have been constructed at Water Street and Tumminello parks in Hellertown Borough, and at the Upper Saucon Community Park," according to information posted on the Lower Saucon Township website. "The cost of materials will be covered by Lower Saucon Township and construction plans for the kiosk are available for guidance."

The project could be an excellent Boy Scout Eagle or Girl Scout Gold Award project, the township stated.

Anyone interested in volunteering to help build the kiosk is asked to contact the Lower Saucon Township Manager at manager@lowersaucontownship.org or 610-865-3291.
