According to a press release, "Paws on The Promenade is a special day for local animal shelters to showcase pets that are available for adoption."

"Over fifteen non-profit animal groups will have displays set-up outside Barnes & Noble...from 11am to 2pm on Saturday, April 28," the release said. "Shoppers are invited to browse among the exhibits and talk one-on-one with shelter volunteers."
