Pets in Need of Homes: Pluto and Manny

These adorable pets from the Center for Animal Health and Welfare need new homes.

Pet profiles are provided  by the Center for Animal Health and Welfare, 1165 Island Park Road, Easton, PA 18042. Visit the center's website or call 610-252-7722 for more information about adopting a shelter pet.

PLUTO

Pluto is a senior male poodle whose time was up at a kill shelter in Philadelphia when the kind folks from the Center for Animal Health and Welfare gave him a second chance. He is now hoping to find a "final home" that will love and care for him. Pluto was recently in a foster home and his foster mom had a lot of great things to say about him. Although he requires regular grooming, he is otherwise pretty low-maintenance. He likes other dogs and loves big fluffy beds. He eats twice a day and loves to investigate a fenced yard. He also doesn't mind being carried around, and prefers being with someone to being alone. Pluto can do stairs and is up to date on shots, neutered and recently had a dental exam. As an older dog, he does have a few health concerns, including a chronic eye issue that the center's animal care manager can explain in detail (he prefers to walk in well-lit areas because of his eyesight). He was not fond of the teenage children in his foster home, and he is also sometimes unsure about people touching his neck. He needs time to build trust in new people, so if you plan on making him a part of your family, please be willing to give him that, along with a routine. Come see Pluto a few times in order to get to know him better!

MANNY

Manny was brought to the center as a stray in 2006, adopted, and returned because his owners became allergic to him in 2009. He was then adopted by another family who later returned him because they were moving. This poor guy just wants a loving forever home! Manny is very sweet, likes other cats, is up to date on shots and really wants to finally find his "forever family!"
