Local Rotary Will Sponsor Oct. 16 Road Rally

The Rotary Club of Saucon's second annual Road Rally will start in Hellertown and benefit efforts to eradicate polio.

Do you love scavenger hunts? Do you enjoy long scenic drives? Then you should consider joining the Rotary Club of Saucon's second annual Road Rally on Sunday, Oct. 16.

The Road Rally, which will benefit efforts to eradicate polio and support the club's International Youth Exchange, will begin with a sign-in at in Hellertown at 1pm. Staggered starts will begin at 1:30pm, with cars leaving from the rear parking lot of the pub.

Road rally teams will be asked to help rescue "poor Penelope Pit Stop from the horrible throes of the dastardly Snidley Whiplash," according to a press release from the Rotary Club. In order to do this each team will receive a course book and trivia questions, with the goal being to complete the road rally course while simultaneously correctly answering the questions.

Each team must have a driver and co-pilot, with additional riders permitted. A $35 fee per person will cover the cost of the rally, refreshments, and a wine, cheese and hors d'oeuvres reception at its end.

Those not interested in participating in the actual rally can join a welcoming party at the rally's final destination, which is being kept secret for now (an email will be sent to members of the welcoming party later).
