Local Lawyer in the Running for 'Woman of the Year' Title

Karen Palazzo is an attorney with the Law Offices of David W. Tidd in Hellertown. She is one of nine candidates competing in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Man & Woman of Year fundraising campaign.

A Hellertown attorney is in the running for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter's 'Woman of the Year' title.

Karen Palazzo, of Lower Macungie Township, is a lawyer with the .

She is participating in the competition in order to help raise funds for the LLS, which "is the world’s largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer," according to a press release from the society.

"Agreeing to utilize her leadership abilities, Palazzo will be conducting her own fundraising campaign for LLS for the next 10 weeks," the release said. "Every dollar she raises counts as one vote."

The male and female candidates with the most votes will be named the chapter’s Man & Woman of the Year, respectively, and their totals will be considered in the naming of national titles.

“We are so grateful for the commitment and generosity of Karen Palazzo, who will be taking a 10-week journey with us to challenge herself to raise money for lifesaving cancer research,” said Maida R. Milone, the Executive Director of the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the LLS.

In addition to her support of the LLS, Palazzo has been involved with Youth Friends of Mission Kids and Literacy Days at Lehigh Valley Hospital. 

The winners for the Man & Woman of the Year will be announced during a ceremony at ArtsQuest at SteelStacks in Bethlehem on Thursday, June 21.
