Why are you so shocked? Hellertown and Lower Saucon have the perfect location! The local industrial and general manufacturing jobs are located MILES away as the councils' have blocked progress for decades.
I should correct myself, as Lower Saucon is approving that the best they can do is to become a bigger dump. Sad.
Hellertown focuses on the over-priced facade of their own Township Hall, when true-blue Hellertonians are barely getting out alive, everyday. It is a slap to the face to the Community, every time you now have to make that new awkward right turn.
Council members maybe looked as people out of touch with the common residents, like Marie Antoinette, let them eat the drippings of beef(cake.)
Common residents are very good at getting depressed and partucipating in illegal activity. They are also more prone to become addicts.
As a small community, we could have the resources to REALLy help people. By offering a job training center and a local drug rehab and mental health facility.
That would be more relevant than a band shell...
