Vintage British Car Show Returning to Township

, so don't be surprised if you encounter some classic Jaguars and Mini-Coopers on the roads of the Saucon Valley over the weekend.

The 19th Annual British Motorcar Gathering, which is sponsored by Keystone Region MG Club Inc., will be held at from 9am to 3pm.

"The annual show features finely restored MGs, Triumphs, Jaguars, Austin-Healeys, Morgans and Mini-Coopers from every mid-Atlantic state," according to the club's website. "Classic British sports cars and sedans dating from the 1930s to present day will be displayed in a wooded setting, with separate areas for each make of car."

According to the site, more than 200 vintage British cars will be on display in the park, with judging from 11am to 1pm.

Registered owners will choose the top three examples of each class and model of car, with more than 50 awards to be presented.

Among the awards to be presented are a "Best of Show" award for the favorite car of the day and a "Diamond in the Rough" award, which will be given to a car that's still on its way to complete restoration.

All makes and models of British cars and motorcycles can register for the show. The cost to register is $10 in advance (and only if pre-registered by May 31) or $15 at the gate.

The gathering will be held rain or shine, with food and drinks available in the park's picnic pavilion. Attendees may also bring their own picnic lunches. Music and children's activities will be available all day, according to the club's website. 

Members of the public are invited to attend the show, with a $2 individual or $5 family donation requested at the gate. Proceeds will benefit the club. Free spectator parking will be available, but is limited.
