Residents Show Off Crafts, Livestock at Allentown Fair

Goats from Lower Saucon Township and a table-setting from Hellertown were among the exhibits by area residents at the Great Allentown Fair, which continues through Monday.

With much of the Lehigh Valley's farmland disappearing to development, sometimes it's hard to believe the region was once covered with back-to-back farms.

The Allentown Fair livestock barns provide a yearly reminder to city slickers and suburbanites of where food actually comes from. The sewing, knitting, quilting and other craft exhibits in Ag Hall at the fair are a testament to the fine craftsmanship that still exists in the community.

This photo gallery includes photos of exhibits from Lower Saucon Township, Hellertown, North Whitehall, Upper Macungie, Emmaus, Alburtis, Coopersburg, Easton and Bethlehem.
