Heat Index Could Hit 100; Pool Dance Party on Tap

In the Saucon Valley it could feel as hot as 100 degrees Wednesday and Thursday.

Temperatures the past few days have been rather cool, but a major warm-up is expected just in time for the official start of summer.

In fact, the mercury is forecast to climb well into the 90s Wednesday and Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

The forecast for Wednesday--the first official day of summer--is sunny with a high near 96 and a possible heat index (that's heat plus humidity) of 100.

Thursday is also expected to be sunny and hot with a high near 97.

Also, a "Dip-N-Dance" will be held at the pool Thursday, June 21, from 1 to 3pm.

, which hosts the Dip-N-Dances at public pools throughout the region.

Other Dip-N-Dances are scheduled to be held at the on the following dates:

Thursday, July 12, 2012, 5 to 7pm ("Twilight Dip-N-Dance" and "Family Night")
