All told, settlements to people who say they were abused by Jerry Sandusky will cost Penn State nearly $60 million.
The university announced last week that it was paying $59.7 million in settlements to 26 people over claims of sex abuse at the hands of the former assistant football coach, The Associated Press reported.
Settlement negotiations lasted about a year, the university said.
Sandusky, 69, was convicted in June 2012 of 45 criminal counts. He currently is appealing his conviction.
Penn State already has spent about $50 million in relation to the Sandusky scandal, including lawyer fees and public relations expenses.
