Saucon Valley Youth Lacrosse will sponsor the event at Polk Valley Park in Lower Saucon Township.

This Saturday, May 4, Polk Valley Park in Lower Saucon Township will be filled with the sights and sounds of youth lacrosse.

Saucon Valley Youth Lacrosse LAX Day will be held from 9 a.m. to 6p.m. in the park, at fields #4 and #5.

According to a press release about the event, Saucon Valley Youth Lacrosse originated as a club program in 2006.

More than 250 boys and girls ages 7 to 15 participate in the youth program, which was "instrumental in the origination and development of (the) S.V. High School lacrosse program," the release said.

SVYL is now part of the newly-formed Lehigh Valley Youth Lacrosse League, which is comprised of youth teams in Lehigh and Northampton counties.

On Saturday, 14 boys and girls games will be played throughout the day.

Refreshments and lacrosse merchandise will be available for purchase, and raffles and 50/50 drawings will be held, with the proceeds to benefit the youth lacrosse organization.

"This day is all about our kids in the lacrosse program," said Glenn Kern, Lower Saucon Township Council president. "Events like these are exactly why we built the park to bring our community together. We hope the weather is warm and sunny and the kids, parents, coaches and community benefit from a fun day."
