After teaching art for 36 years in the Salisbury Township School District, Louise is now enjoying her retirement, painting landscapes in the summer and portraits in
the winter. She works from direct observation of her subjects, using photographs only as a reference to complete the works later in her studio. Her medium is soft pastel, applied in so many layers that her landscapes look like paintings; her portraits are drawn with pastel pencils. Louise is a member of the Lehigh Art Alliance, Bethlehem Palette Club, and Parkland Art League.

Bill has had a camera near at hand ever since he was eight years old; that first one was a Kodak Brownie. He is a self-taught photographer who settled upon macro and landscape genres. In 2000, he converted to an exclusive digital process and creates all his own prints.

Directions: The historic Heller Homestead, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is part of Heller Homestead Park owned by Lower Saucon Township
and leased by the Saucon Valley Conservancy. It is approximately one half mile west of Route 412 and Water Street in Hellertown. Turn west on Water Street, which becomes Friedensville Road in Lower Saucon Township. Go across the bridge. The Homestead is on the left adjacent to the Saucon Creek and opposite Creek Road.
