Our Whiz Kids this week have works of art on display in the Fourth Annual Young Artists Exhibit at the in Lower Saucon Township. The exhibit is made possible through a partnership between the Saucon Valley Conservancy, which is headquartered at the homestead, and the . Art teachers Sandra Eckert and Brenda Stever selected the works of art in the exhibit from among many pieces created by students throughout the school year. This week's “Whiz Kids” are just four of the many students whose art is currently on display.

Charlene Natterman is in 10th grade and created the piece “Why My Piggy?” which is now on display. Charlene enjoys creating pieces that reflect her interests in dance, TV shows and movies. She prefers to create three-dimensional art and said she hopes to continue her creative pursuits in the future.

Samantha Kiefer, a senior, has pieces in the exhibit for the second time. Her favorite medium in which to work is pencil, and she prefers her drawings to be realistic. She has four pieces on display this year: Books, a pencil drawing; Squirrel Kitten and Refugee, both scratchboard; and Pumpkin for my Faith, which is a pastel. Samantha plans to attend NCC next year, to study nursing.
