Students Stuff 'Boo-Boo Bears' for Local Hospital ERs

The bears stuffed by St. Michael the Archangel Primary School students will be used to help cheer young patients at local hospitals.

On Tuesday, Jan. 31, students in the Primary School at St. Michael the Archangel School in Upper Saucon Township stuffed hand-sewn bears for local hospital emergency rooms. Julie Borden, the school’s learning support teacher, led the project, which involved more than 200 students in grades kindergarten through fourth. The Crazy Quilters Quilt Guild of Allentown pre-sewed the bears and the children completed the crucial step of stuffing them with poly fiberfill. In total, more than 240 bears were completed. The "boo-boo bears," upon receiving their final closing stitches by parent volunteers, were donated to local hospital emergency rooms.
