School Board Member Lanita Lum Resigns

Lanita Lum, a member of the Saucon Valley School Board, resigned at Tuesday night's meeting.

The Saucon Valley School Board voted to accept member Lanita Lum's resignation at Tuesday night's meeting, the Express-Times reported.

Lum was not running for re-election, and her four-year term on the board was due to expire at the end of this year.

The newspaper reported that Lum said she resigned to pursue other interests, but declined to comment more specifically about her decision to step down.

The resignation marked the second time this summer a member has departed the Saucon Valley School Board.

Member Sharon Stack resigned last month because her family is moving out of the district.

The board subsequently appointed Mark Sivak to replace Stack until the November general election takes place.
