Saucon Valley Student Named 'Best of the Best'

Susanne "Susi" Neher, a senior at Saucon Valley High School, has been named a "Best of the Best" recipient by Cohen & Feeley, Attorneys at Law.

senior Susanne "Susi" Neher has been named to Cohen & Feeley's prestigious annual "Best of the Best" list, the local law firm announced recently.

"The law firm of Cohen & Feeley, in recognition of outstanding senior high school students, established the Best of the Best Program in 1994," the firm said on its website. "One student is selected from each of the 27 area high schools."

On its Facebook page, the firm posted the following information about Neher and her academic and extracurricular accomplishments:

"Susanne Neher is the 'Best of the Best' recipient from Saucon Valley High School. She is the daughter of Mary and Frank Neher of Hellertown. She will study political science in the fall."

Neher has the following accomplishments to her credit:

  • Class president for three years
  • founder and president for four years
  • National Honor Society Junior Officer/President
  • Scholastic Scrimmage Team Captain
  • Recipient of the "Good Citizenship" Award from the Union League of Philadelphia
  • Recipient of a Girls Scouts of USA "Silver Award"
  • Member of the varsity swimming and track & field teams, Model UN, Jazz Choir, Debate Team, Veterans Appreciation Club, Dance Team and Girl Scouts
  • Community service work, including: helping at Lions Club breakfasts; organizing and running a National Honor Society blood drive; organizing a NHS food drive that benefited a local food bank; raising money for sustainable education and economic projects in northern Uganda through Spotlight Uganda.
  • Works part-time as a tour guide at in Hellertown.

In conjunction with her award, Cohen & Feeley will donate $100 to a charity of Neher's choice, in her name.

The charity Neher has chosen to be the beneficiary of this donation is Invisible Children, Inc.

She is also scheduled to be honored at an awards breakfast this month.

At the breakfast, two "Best of the Best" winners (one male and one female) will each receive $750, while the 25 other recipients will each receive $250.

One student will also receive a $500 community service award from Team Capital Bank, Cohen & Feeley announced.
