Saucon Valley Coach Recovering from Devastating Fall

Saucon Valley High School baseball coach Glenn Snyder was seriously injured in a Jan. 2 fall down a flight of steps in his Hellertown home. He has been receiving physical therapy in Philadelphia.

 head baseball coach Glenn Snyder was temporarily paralyzed and seriously injured after he suffered a devastating fall in January, but he is now on the road to recovery, the Express-Times reported Thursday.

Snyder, 53, injured one of his vertebrae and incurred nerve damage when he fell down a flight of steps in his Hellertown home Jan. 2, according to the story.

Currently, he is receiving daily physical therapy at Magee Rehabilitation Hospital in Philadelphia and is able to walk 225 feet with assistance.

Snyder told the Express-Times that since his fall, he has relied on the support of his family, including his wife, Tammy, and his children, Cory and Alicia.

Assistant baseball coach Phil Sams has taken over Snyder's coaching position on an interim basis, but Snyder said he hopes to be able to see one or two games this season, the paper reported.

He also said he misses the team and will be with the players in spirit.

It has been a difficult winter for supporters of Saucon Valley baseball, with also affecting many fans and friends of the district.
