Sands Casino Expansion Approved by Gaming Board

The approval means Sands Bethlehem Casino Resort can add 31 new table games, giving it more table games than any other casino in Pennsylvania. More than 100 new jobs are anticipated.

The Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem received approval last month to add 31 new table games, giving it the most table games of any casino in the state, according to a report in The Express-Times.

The casino would expand its gaming floor by 2,600 square feet and move 837 slot machines to make way for the extra table games, according to the story. When the renovations are done, the Sands will have 183 table games.

The new games will mean 107 new jobs, a Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board spokesman told the newspaper.
