An informational meeting about the Saucon Valley School District's PowerTeaching initiative is planned for Monday, Oct. 21, at 6:30 p.m. in the High School Audion room, according to an announcement recently emailed by the district.

More information about PowerTeaching was requested by Saucon Valley parent Elsa Brown at a school board meeting last month.

Brown told the school board she was frustrated more hasn't been done to educate district parents and "stakeholders" about the new PowerTeaching program, which assistant school district superintendent Carl Atkinson said consists of instructional practices that are being used in the district's math classes (grade four through Algebra I).

"It's organized in a way that allows students to talk to their peers...although that's not the only aspect to it," Atkinson said at the time.
