Marching Band 'Guest Bartends' to Raise Trip Funds
Braveheart Highland Pub in Hellertown donated a portion of its Nov. 7 profits to help fund the Saucon Valley High School marching band's planned trip to Florida in the spring.
If you were traveling down Main Street in Hellertown Monday night and thought you saw members of the Marching Band hanging out in front of one of Hellertown's local taverns, you did.
Some members of the band spent the evening playing from their lively repertoire as part of a Saucon Valley Music Connection fundraiser, standing outside the front entrance to for a few hours as official “celebrity bartenders.”
For the students' efforts, the pub donated 10 percent of the evening's receipts toward their upcoming trip to Florida in the spring.
