Local Students Inducted Into NCC Honor Society

Two Northampton Community College students from Hellertown were recently inducted into the college's chapter of Phi Theta Kappa.

Two Northampton Community College students from Hellertown were recently inducted into the college's chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society, the school announced Dec. 20.

Phyllis Coronado and Laura Halsel were among 73 students who were inducted into the society at the college's Monroe Campus, NCC said.

Phi Theta Kappa is an international honor society for students attending 2-year and junior colleges, the school said. To qualify for membership, inductees must have a 3.5 or higher grade point average (GPA), be enrolled in an associate degree program and perform community service work.
