District: Students Must Be Immunized by April 30

Saucon Valley School District students without required immunizations will not be admitted to school after April 30, 2012, because of new school immunization regulations that took effect last year.

As a result of new school immunization regulations that became effective in August of last year, students without required immunizations will not be admitted to school after April 30, 2012, school district superintendent Sandra Fellin announced recently.

In a March 30 district news alert, Fellin said "the regulation says that if the requirements are not met, the school administrator may not admit the child to school or permit continued attendance. The eight month provisional period will expire April 30, 2012."

"If you still need immunizations and have not gotten them, as of May 1 your child will not be allowed into school until such time they have the missing immunizations administered," she added. "There will NOT be any further extensions. No exceptions will be granted."
