Here's a list of what's open and closed in the Saucon Valley area on Monday, Nov. 12.

To help you plan your day, here is a list of what's open and closed on Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 12, 2012.

Lower Saucon Township offices are open.

Hellertown Borough municipal offices are closed. **There will be regular garbage and recycling pick-up.**

Saucon Valley schools are open.

Northampton County government offices are closed.

Pennsylvania Department of Transportation driver's license and photo centers are closed. (Online services are available at www.dmv.state.pa.us.)

Federal offices are closed. 

State offices are closed.

Post offices are closed, and there will be no regular mail pick-up or delivery. 

Retail: Most retail and entertainment establishments are open.

Banks: Most, but not all, are closed.

Isn't it ironic that, on Veterans Day, most Veterans do not have off from work yet those who didn't serve get a paid holiday?
